The Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Houston administered the 2015 Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) on March 28. The TOCFL, given in major cities around the world and offered in both the traditional and simplified forms, is intended for those who wish to measure their Chinese proficiency rank and is offered in 3 bands with 2 levels in each band. Those who meet the requirements receive a certificate issued by the Ministry of Education in Taiwan, which can serve as a credential for applying for scholarships and college admissions or for serving as job-required proof of Chinese language proficiency.
The award ceremony for this year’s winners took place last Friday with 13 total students from the Houston metropolitan area receiving awards.
Clements had 15 students who participated in the TOCFL this year. The following 7 students won top awards in their respective testing levels. Clements students took home an impressive four 1st place awards and swept the top three places at Level 5. Congratulations on their outstanding achievements!
